Religion
By: Jaira Labelle28

For the past two classes that we had for religion, all we did was discussed. It may sound boring but it wasn’t. We discussed a lot of things, such as hard situations, why is there a God, or how do you know that there’s a God. Mrs. Sosnowski gave us a situation which is; ‘You are poor and got no money, got no food, you have a brother that is really hungry and a mother that is sick.’  Her, saying that situation, everyone was quite for a very long time; it was like someone got hit by something.  I thought about that, and I imagined myself on those shoes, and it hit me, I felt like crying because, I know and everyone else knows, that the situation happens in our world. Mrs. Sosnowski made us realize something or at least she made me realize something.

She also gave as a question to think about which was "Why do we need education?"  Some people said, to be successful and get a good job so that you have a good future ahead of you, and she asked again "But why?" some said for a good reputations, good image, and money. She stopped us and she made a comment about the image and the money. She said that that's what our society are doing to us, all we care about is our status. I think she made that clear, I think she made a good point, and for the question "why do we need education?" we really never got the answer.

Those religion classes, I learned so much and I learned to appreciate my surrounding more. Mrs. Sosnowski made me realize that we can't just take take and take, sometimes we have to give and share our blessings. She said that if you keep giving and sharing your blessings, it means that you're giving God a space to re-fill that space. I think that's the message that would mark in my head forever.
