SS Project - Egypt Poems

Our class was assigned a new project in Social Studies yesterday (on April 7th, 2014). We must invent a cinquain and title poem. Ms. Costanzo has done this project before, but this time around we have to build a 3-D scene on what our poems are about. In previous years, the students simply had to draw a picture of their poem. The due date is on April 29th, and the outline and marking rubric has not been created. It would be a good idea to begin working on finishing this project early, as we have another project coming up in Health.

The poems we write must both be on one topic about Egypt. The topic must be a noun. The first type of poem, cinquain, must have five lines. The first being the topic, the second with two adjectives describing it, the third including three verbs ending with the suffix -ing, the fourth having a sentence that describes your chosen topic, and, lastly, the fifth a synonym for your subject. Your second poem, the title poem, consists of the same number of lines as the amount of letters your topic consists of. In order to spell your topic, each line should begin with the next letter of your subject. Once you have finished your poems, it would be a good idea to get it checked by Ms. Costanzo.
