In Social Studies, we are learning about Egyptians and how
their lifestyle was. What they did in the daily basis, what food they eat, how
they managed their time, what technology they had back then, and many other
cool things. We also got talked about mummifying and embalming the bodies of
the dead, and what they had to go through before they could go to their afterlife.
We talked about how Osiris, the God of
the underworld who determined who goes to the afterlife. What he does is he
weight the heart vs. the soul using a scale, and if the heart is lighter than
the soul, that means you had a good life, but if the soul is heavier that means
you didn’t have a good life.
There were a lot of things that we learned that it got me
interesting, such as:
· -
How they build the pyramid
· -
Scribes
· -
Papyrus
· -
Solar boats
· -
Hieroglyphs
But there was one thing that I really liked, that is the
Zenet (S). Zenet was basically their kind of like our chess, a game board for
the rich Egyptians. They used Zenet when they have spare times so they have
something to do. We got to try and we actually played the game with a partner
one time and my partner was Amrit, and it was really fun. I think Zenet is very
interesting because it’s a game where you really have to think, just like the
game, chess
