Blog post
Career Cruising
My blog post is about Career cruising in ICT. A week ago Ms.Teetaert introduced us to Career Cruising.com. The point of this website is to take a survey and try to find an appropriate job for each of us, that suits our interests and our likings. This survey is to help us have an idea of what job will be good for us in the future. This survey has about 116 questions for us to answer, with the options:

  • ·         Dislike very much

  • ·         Dislike
  • ·         Does not matter
  • ·         Like
  • ·         Like very much
And the survey would look over all of the options you chose from and make a list of jobs that correspond with what you disliked and liked.

This survey is just to help us get an idea of what we can become in the near future and become successful at life. After we do a matchmaker, we then look at our learning styles and make our plans.

Science

In Science we are learning about fluids. Fluids are anything that can be poured and that take the shape of the container. Fluids can be liquids or gases. Right now we are watching a video on the Titanic. The video is about how the Titanic sank. In Science we have a Titanic project due soon. For the project if you are working alone you have to write a little newsletter about the Titanic. In a group of 2 or 3 you have to make a little video talking about the Titanic.

For Science we have a test October 29th. This test will be on everything we have learned about fluids. That includes density, volume and mass calculations. It is going to include pressure and viscosity, which we will be learning next week. It will include the particle theory, but just to explain why things do what they do when they gain or lose energy.

Poems
In ELA we have started a new unit about poems. Most of us do not like poems including me, but if we think about it we listen to poems every day. The songs we listen to are poems; if we read the lyrics of the songs we can find alliterations, similes, rhymes, and hyperboles. Song writers have to know how to write poems so their songs make sense.

During ELA class I think we should be more optimistic about poems, even if we find them boring a times. Sometimes writing and understanding poems can be hard but if we all hold out and try our best the will be easy to write and understand.  Maybe if we change our views about poems we’re going to find out that like them.

My first blog.

Last year in grade 7 I had joined soccer. Our coaches was Ms. Del'aqua and Ms. Marks. They were a really great coaches. Every practices we would have to run two laps around the field and after that we would do soccer drills and Brey would help us with it. Every other drills we would have to line up and as we were waiting up, Ms. Marks would tell us to do jumping jacks. That was kind of fun. When we try to shoot on the goalie, Ms. D would always give us advice or strategy. We had two  soccer tournament, we didn't win any but the important thing was we played hard, we did our best, and we had fun. What else can I say? Thanks to my teammates and to our coaches. I had a good season with them.  Team Patriots!

Exams

This year in grade 8 we are going to start exams. With that comes the worrying confusion screaming to get notes during exam time. So I’m going to try my best to get all my notes starting with social.

I am thinking of going to study hall once a week to get my stuff organized. It is a good feeling when you have your things organized you don’t feel messy things become easy and you feel more calm.
