ELA Literature Circles

In Ela class we are doing literature circles. Mr Beaudry has some books that you can choose from for  example crisis on con shelf 10, I am David, Scarlet, And many more. If you don't like any from them you can pick a book for the library of your own choice but it has to be school appropriate so that means no swears. For literature circles you have to divide the book up into four sections, and you have to read a certain amount of chapters or pages by Monday.

Each Monday you will get into your groups and discuss what happened in this section of the book. Mr Beaudry will give a a sheet with an evaluate page and a page that you have to write a summary about what happened in the section. On the very back of that you will to write notes about the characters and other things that happened in the section that you read when your done filling out everything you hand it into the inbox like usual.

Ancient Greece

Social Studies

In scoial sudies we are learning about ancient Greece. We are gonna have a test soon but the date hasn't been a announced. We were given three sets of questions about Greece. We are watching the movie Hercules currently in social studies to learn about what the Greeks wore and the activity they participated in. Up to 90% of people farmed in Greece. Boys in Athens went to school and were beaten or yelled at for discipline.

The Greeks wore clothing called chiton. Greeks ate vegetables, fruit, and bread. They also drank wine and water. The most famous Greek city stated were Sparta and Athens. Sparta was a military society and was ruled my and Oligarchy. Athens was a well rounded city and was ruled by a democracy. My favorite part so far about Greece is the Olympics. The coolest part about Greece were the gymnasium, the gymnasium was men social club and many activities they wrestled, and often spoke about technique.

Health Project

For the health project, we had to make a video on how stress and exercise affect a system. I was partnered with Ranshika, Takdir, and Amrit.

      We filmed at Ranshika's
house and outside of his house. We had an awesome time filming it because it was fun and hilarious. I was being random
by walking around on their fence, and I
got watched by his neighbours.
They thought that we were crazy. One
of the ladies watching us was holding a
cross.

Thank you for listening to my presentation.

Social studies Greek Title page

In Social Studies, we are starting a new unit about Greece. Ms. Costanzo gave us an assignment to make a title page for Greece. You had to have five pictures, and a paragraph for each picture. We were only allowed to use pictures, and the information from the social textbook. There were a few pictures you could've drew, like the Spartan soldiers they were a strong military , an Acropolis a refugee when war would happen then later on it became a worshipping place, a Parthenon which was a temple for the goddess Athena, the clothes that the Greeks wore, and the Trojan Horse a war to get back Helen from Paris. They all had good information, which were easy marks if drew the picture well, and had information.

Religion field trip

RELIGION FIELD TRIP

On May 1st the grade eights and grade sevens went on a field trip to a Cathedral. We took a bus to get there. When we got there we went to the basement and sat in a circle. We had to say our names and say our favourite movies while we waited to go upstairs. We also played this other game where we had to guess who started doing an action. After that we had to go upstairs and sit down to listen to songs and stories.
There were two guys who were telling us stories about their lives. They played decent music. My favourite song was the one about the peanut butter sandwich. After an hour or two of listening to the guys, we went back to the basement to eat our lunch. We stayed down there for a while talking to our friends. After a while of staying down there, we had to go back up to listen to more stories and music. After that, we got on the bus and went back to school. When we got back to school we were allowed to play outside for the rest of the day. After that we went home.
